Are you using compass?
As you are aware Catholic Education Tasmania has moved to a new student record system called Compass. The Compass Program allows us to communicate with families directly through the Compass Parent Portal. The Compass Parent Portal is now our main communication tool. All parents will need to download the Compass App and ensure they are able to login.
Thank you to those families who have already taken up the Compass App and are successfully engaging with it and our school.

Welcome to Week 10.
On Sunday Catholic Churches across Australia will celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday. It is a day when Catholics come together to acknowledge and celebrate the gifts of Australia's First Peoples. This year the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council have embraced the NAIDOC theme for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday – Heal Country.
The theme of NAIDOC Week 'Heal Country' invites us to get to know Country, connect to Country and protect Country. I am sure we all have a special connection to a particular part of Country. Where do you feel a strong connection to Country? For me it is Hawley Beach, Tiagarra and Dove Lake. All places that ground me when I visit and make me appreciate God's wondrous creation. In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis has called us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage. Let us pray this week that we may discover the spiritual riches of God in Country.
During the holidays three new flag poles will be installed. In Week 1, weather permitting, we will have a Welcome to Country and a flag raising ceremony as part of our NAIDOC Week Celebrations.

Casual Clothes Day - Friday 2nd July
Students are invited to wear casual clothes on Friday 2nd July for 'Feel Good Friday' to celebrate the end of Term. There is no cost to participate.
Collection of Children
Can parents please make contact with the school if there are people, relatives or friends that are not permitted to collect children or if they come on site is a concern for families.
Reports & Parent-Teacher Conferences
Reports are available on the Compass parent portal today, 29th June from 3pm. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday 1st July. Parent-teacher meetings can be booked via the Compass parent portal.
Kinder 2022
Enrolments for Kinder 2022 are now closed. Parents are welcome to still enrol but will have to go on our wait list. Current parents of OLOL need to enrol as soon as possible for Kinder 2022, as interviews are currently taking place.
Catholic Education Transportation Survey
We want to know how to improve student transport. Please take five minutes to let us know what you think about how students get to and from school. The review will also be looking at the attitudes families and students have towards bus transportation and reasons why they may or may not use bus transportation.

Medical Students
If your Child suffers from Asthma, the Office requires Asthma Medical Plans that are signed and provided by a Doctor for 2021. Please provide to the Office if required. All other Medical plans need to be for the current year. Could current medical plans be bought into the office as soon as possible please.
Tasmanian Premier's Reading Challenge - (Monday April 26 - Friday July 2)
It’s the home stretch of the Challenge and we hope our students have enjoyed being part of the 2021 Premier’s Reading Challenge and reading up a storm!
The 10 week Challenge will come to an end this Friday 2nd July.
Completed logs can be handed to their teacher or Mrs Marshall in the Library by Friday 2nd July . All students participating in the Challenge go into the draw to win a school visit from Hawka. Students who complete the Challenge will receive a certificate from the Premier and go into the draw to win a $100 book voucher.
